Henri Kontinen who is at a career high 37 in ITF juniors has been selected for the Finnish Davis Cup squad to face South Africa in Finland. The South African team will feature MCTA’s Wes Moodie and the fast improving Kevin Anderson. This is an honour for Henri and an indication of the progress he has made in the past year. For our Finnish readers there is an official media release, which you can read it here.
Henri has earned his place with his debut in Challenger doubles was the finest in history when he made the final of the $75,000 in his own country and recently in Asia winning an ITF group 2 in singles and doubles (w Vucic) and making the finals of a group 1 tournament a week later.

As a junior he has also secured his first ATP point in singles late 2007 and this week he qualified for the Future in Britain losing in 3 sets to the number 2 seed (Dawid OLEJNICZAK (POL) 6-2 6-7(5) 6-1).

In the doubles event of the same tournament he teamed up with his finalist partner from the challenger and they are now in the semifinal after defeating Bains and Prichard from Great Britain 63, 63 in the first round and having a Walk Over against British Bamford and Goodall.

After the Davis Cup Henri will focus on the lead up to the French Open and Wimbledon juniors with an eye on the top 20 juniors.

MCTA is the world’s first touring Academy.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
