The Monte Carlo Academy's Wesley Moodie is through to the semifinals of the men's doubles event at the Australian Open after a stunning quarterfinal win on Tuesday.
With partner Jeff Coetzee, Moodie came back from 4-2 down in the third and deciding set to defeat fourth seeds Pavel Vizner and Martin Damm. It continued an impressive run of results for the South African pair, who will now meet second seeds and current Wimbledon champions Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra for a place in the final. "This was a huge win for them," said MCTA coach Antony Hampson. "They were down 4-2 in third (set) and managed to stay in there through making the other guys play. Wes came up with some big serving when facing break point." |
