Anna Fitzpatrick has qualified for the main draw of the $25,000 Zubr Cup in Prerov, Czech Republic after a convincing victory over local favourite Nikola Frankova in the final qualifying round.

Anna, the top seed in the qualifying competition, defeated Lenka Jurikova in her opening match and followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Frankova, the Czech who reached the quarterfinals last year and captured the doubles title.

Monte-Carlo Academy Director of Coaching David Sammel, who is with the 18-year-old in Prerov, believes Anna’s hard work is paying dividends. “We had an excellent week of practice in Roehampton last week and it was perfect that Anna was in qualifying as she needed to get match tight again,” said Sammel.

“Yesterday [against Jurikova] she started a little ropey but got better as the match progressed. Today she came out and eliminated the unnecessary errors and kept the pressure on throughout. Anna showed her class coming forward and the work done last week to help her read the net better is paying off.”

The main draw begins on Wednesday.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
