Former top British pro Barry Cowan has agreed to be an Ambassador for MCTA.

Best known for taking Pete Sampras to five sets in the 2001 Wimbledon Championships, Cowan now works as commentator and analyst for Sky Sports. As an Ambassador Cowan will work to build and promote the MCTA brand through his extensive contacts in tennis whilst passing on his experience and expertise to MCTA players through analysis and coaching.

Cowan has a long association with the MCTA team having been coached by David Sammel (MCTA Director of Tennis) and Jez Green (MCTA Physical Conditioner ) for a number of years to the height of his career. His close involvement in the MCTA philosophy and the concept of the world’s first touring tennis academy drew Cowan to MCTA. Barry is enthusiastic about his role and said: “Having known and worked closely with Dave and Jez this is both a great opportunity for myself and MCTA. The experiences that I have had in both my tennis career and the last six years working in the media, leave me well placed to utilise my time around my Sky Sports commitments to promote and work within this exciting venture. Dave and Jez are unique in tennis with their combined approach to coaching, physical conditioning and the mental skills all required in producing and working with elite players. “

David Sammel says: “Barry is a close friend who understands MCTA philosophy inside-out. He is exactly the type of role model and ambassador MCTA want, a strong character with a love of tennis who works extremely hard to achieve his goals with a focus that will be an inspiration to everyone involved with MCTA. Barry watches hundreds of matches a year for his job at Sky Sports and his astute analysis of top players will give MCTA players an edge. The great thing is Barry will be active both as an Ambassador for the brand and as a travelling coach for MCTA”.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
