A lot of players seem to look forward to Miami. Admittedly I haven’t always enjoyed it that much. It’s always a little chaotic in the city and the roads seem quite treacherous!

Five lane highways with no system in place for “fast lanes” or “slow lanes” – the cars weave in and out often without indication and I find I have to keep my hand on the hooter (or “horn”) all the time.

I did find a nice apartment to rent for the tournament next year so that will ease the chaos a little! Besides that my Spanish is not very good and it seems that to get by in Miami it is becoming more and more important to speak Spanish otherwise 50% of South Florida won’t understand you!

Speaking of apartments and someone that owns one in Miami – Andy Murray – well he certainly seemed to feel at home in Miami. He played some pretty impressive tennis throughout the week. It seems as if he is closing in fast to the top three players.

Jeff (Coetzee) and I lost in the second round of the doubles to eventual champions, Max Mirnyi and Andy Ram. We had set points in the first set, won the second with two breaks and lost a close super-breaker.

That marks the end of our partnership. I’m looking forward to playing with someone else – I guess you never know how it will work out but I’ve always been one to take a chance on something particularly if it would have meant wondering what would have happened if I didn’t.

Well it’s the start of the clay court season. I didn’t enjoy the “dirt” much during my singles career. Actually that’s a lie – I did enjoy playing on the dirt but I just never seemed to win. So normally during that time the only dirt I would play on would be on the beach in South Africa. Luckily I’m quite good at covering half the court in doubles on clay so I’m looking forward to playing… and winning!

I arrived in London a few days ago and I think, I think I might have just had a top two most embarrassing moment. My daughter woke me up on a rather chilly morning and being cold (and tired) I put on the closest thing I could find.

After sitting in the lounge while my daughter ate some breakfast, I heard a knock on the door. Without thinking, I went to answer the door – it was my normally quiet next-door neighbour. He had come to drop off my daughters’ first tennis racket that had arrived while I was away.

I saw him looking at me a little strangely but didn’t realise until halfway through our conversation. I looked down and noticed what I was wearing – my wife’s small Pink gown.

I couldn’t think of much of a come back, and vaguely remember saying something about it being my wife’s gown. My normally very quiet neighbour obviously couldn’t hold it in anymore and he burst out laughing very loudly. I must have been quite a sight with a pink gown hardly reaching my knees and the sleeves hardly covering my elbows.

One more “funny”; I recently read about a wife who had been feeling a little romantic and after slipping into bed with her husband asked, “What would you do if I said there was a sexy woman lying next to you?” Her husband replied sleepily, “I’d stay faithful.”

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
